In this, the third installation in our infographic series about Networks, we enumerate the features and functions that make your Network reliable.

We refer to them as the Network Reliability Functions because the degree to which you provide for these functions is the degree to which you can rely on your Network to be available and useful to your employees.

We group these functions together because they work best together; they each enhance the benefit derived from the others and because you cannot provide for only one or two to the exclusion of the others. Also, to get the most value from your Network it is beneficial to consider all of the Network Reliability Functions together so that you may cost effectively scale them to your particular needs. In this way, you don’t provide for too much or too little of any single function and thereby compromise the value you receive from the group – either by over-providing for a function which, on its own, drives a negligible increase in reliability or by under-providing for a function that disproportionately lowers reliability across the board.

In future infographics and blogs we’ll talk more about how to provide for Network Reliability Functions and how to appropriately size them. Right now we are simply introducing the group, the categories, and describing them.
